22nd Arpa International Film Festival Highlights at the American Legion Hollywood Post 43
The historic American Legion Post 43 was the location where all the excitement took place at our 22nd anniversary of Arpa International Film Festival
on November 8-10, 2019.Opportunity always reveals itself to our filmmakers who have made it their mission in creating stories that move audiences and create undeniable emotion. Once again, we screened amazing shorts, features, documentaries, music videos, and animated films at our new location.
The documentaries were the highlight of the weekend and had sold out crowds.
Award Winners 2019 Arpa International Film Festival
The Festival was very proud to have presented  its prestigious Armin T. Wegner Humanitarian Award to directors Mimi Malayan and Arthur Muradyan for their film THE STATELESS DIPLOMAT, the story of Diana Agabeg Apcar, a 19th century Armenian writer living in Japan, becoming the de facto ambassador of a lost nation, the First Republic of Armenia.
Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking Award:Â SAND AND FIRE (THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM!), directed by Souheil Benbarka
Best Feature Film Award Winner: COMING HOME, produced by Makar Zaporozhskiy & Anna Gasparyan, directed by Daria Shumakova
Best Director Award Winner: Daria Shumakova for COMING HOME
Best Screenplay Award Winner:Â LORIK, directed by Alexey Zlobin
Best Documentary Film Award Winners (a tie):
