Celebrating our history with the 6th Arpa Film Festival poster
2003 – The festival was held at ArcLight Cinemas, located in the state of the art Cinerama movie complex in Hollywood. The Gala Awards banquet took place in the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where director Atom Egoyan and actress Arsinée Khanjian received Career Achievement Awards.
The Armin T. Wegner Humanitarian Award celebrated its first year. Carlo Massa received the award for his documentary film Destination: Nowhere – The Witness. This humanitarian award is presented annually to a filmmaker whose film deals with subjugated peoples, ethnic cleansing, forced deportations, massacres, and genocides. The motion picture must contribute to the fight for social conscience and human rights, a struggle to which Armin T. Wegner devoted his entire life.
