Logline: A story about a boy during the Armenian Genocide of 1915.
Synopsis: In 1915 during the Armenian Genocide, a child is seen with a noose around his neck, his hands tied behind his back, and left helpless as he begins to tire. In the child’s mind, his mother is comforting him by playing the violin. It is revealed that his parents have both been murdered: his mother has been hung and his father has been killed. His mother’s head scarf blows off her head and falls onto the child. The child closes his eyes before the rope breaks, setting him free. He hugs his mother goodbye before running for his life, carrying his mother’s head scarf with him. In the present day, Hamo Arzoumanian is living in Canada reflecting on his great-grandfather’s story; the story that leads up to Hamo’s life in the diaspora. At his community’s Armenian Church, he holds his fist up to his heart and it is revealed that the headscarf his great-grandfather saved is wrapped around his wrist.
